Greetings! GWCS is almost totally back in the jail and in the Elder Care facilities.
An update on volunteer needs
It feels good to be able to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to those who cannot regularly worship in their churches. We do still need people to conduct Bible Studies, and worship services at the jail, and pastors to conduct worship services at the elder care facilities. We are also in need of people to play the piano at the services. Please prayerfully consider joining in to help us spread the Gospel of Christ.
Changes are coming
Changes are coming to GWCS. Our administrative assistant, Marlene Schallow, is retiring at the end of March. Marlene has faithfully been with us for 23+ years and will be spending more time with her grandchildren. The Board of Directors interviewed candidates for the position and have hired Sharon Michalski for the administrative assistant position. She is already onboard learning the responsibilities of the position.
Job Opening
We will be looking for another person to be the Chaplain/Director of GWCS. The focus, initially, will be for someone to come onboard to oversee the Elder Care Ministry and help build it back to the pre-Covid levels if possible. Chaplain Ray Slatton, our current director, is not retiring, but taking on some additional duties at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church but he will still continue on with GWCS' jail ministry until this part of our ministry can be merged back to the new Director's position. Contact us if interested!
Thank you!
We have been blessed to have these devoted people leading our ministry, but are looking forward to where God will lead us in the future.
