Greetings! New things are happening at GWCS!
Highlights from this winter
Our Director, Chaplain Ray Slatton was very busy these last three months.
This October he recovered from his July knee surgery, and then COVID in November, which restricted his work for a time. Despite that, he was doing God's Work for these people who are isolated in our community.
Some of the highlights of Chaplain Ray's activities include:
Provided end of life support for a resident who was being taken off their ventilator in October. He spoke words of comfort and assurance of forgiveness that were hers through the gift of faith.
Officiated at a wedding that was a direct result of our ministry at Sylvan Crossing.
He worked hard to meet the needs of more than 300 individual religious requests from jail inmates these past three months.
He also did two 'ride-a longs' with our Sheriffs' over the last three months. On one occasion, he assisted with talking to a person who was suicidal. The Marathon County Deputies were able to gain custody of the person without injury to anyone.
Provided a Christmas Eve service at North Central Health Care. There were approximately 50 people in attendance.
Dear supporters of GWCS- these acts of goodwill are only possible because of YOU! These things are a direct result of your support and donations. Thank you very much for your kindness to those who need to know that God is there with them.
Eugene Viegut has retired!
After more than 30 years of service to God's people, through his volunteering with GWCS, Eugene has retired from our organization. He provided worship to countless people in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. We are truly thankful for his contributions of time and resources. We which Eugene all the best!
